Everything you need to know about our music programs

We welcome students of all ages — from children as young as 5 to adults. Our programs are tailored to each age group, with specialized curricula for kids, teens, and adult learners.

No! We provide Morin Khuur instruments for use during lessons. For piano, our studio is fully equipped. If you'd like to practice at home, we can help you find the right instrument for your level and budget.

The Morin Khuur (horsehead fiddle) is a traditional Mongolian stringed instrument with a rich, resonant sound. It's one of the most iconic instruments in Central Asian music, recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of Intangible Heritage.

Standard lessons are 30 minutes for beginners and 60 minutes for intermediate and advanced students. We also offer extended 90-minute sessions for students preparing for performances or competitions.

Yes, we offer virtual lessons via Zoom for both piano and Morin Khuur. Online students receive the same structured curriculum as in-person learners, with video recordings of each session for review.

Our Summer Music Program runs for 5 weeks (July–August) and offers intensive instruction in both piano and Morin Khuur. Students participate in daily group sessions, private lessons, ensemble practice, and a final recital performance.

You can book a trial lesson directly through our website by clicking "Book a Lesson" in the navigation menu. Select your preferred instrument, choose an available time slot, and complete the booking — it's that simple.

Yes! We offer small group classes (3–5 students) for both instruments. Group lessons are a great way to learn collaboratively, stay motivated, and enjoy ensemble playing from the very beginning.

Anura Music is one of the only schools in the United States offering professional Morin Khuur instruction alongside classical piano. Our instructors are trained performers with international experience, and our curriculum bridges traditional Mongolian music with modern techniques.

We're based in Virginia. In-person lessons take place at our studio, and we also serve students nationwide through our virtual lesson program.
